Building Resistance to Disinformation: A training program for families, educators, journalists, and the general public

Mediacentar, in partnership with with “Transitions” from Prague, continues with implementation of activities toward strengthening of local support structures for media literacy of children, young people, parents and caregivers, journalists and all other experts that provide professional parenting support.
By transferring positive experiences from the Czech Republic and other European countries, and working primarily with schools, but also with other educational and cultural heritage institutions such as museums, archives, libraries, community centers, this projects brings together and strengthens all important links of media education.
Some of the main project components:
- Working with children, young people, parents and caregivers and improving their ability to access, analyse, evaluate, and create a variety of media.
- Providing informal educators with the background knowledge to understand the motivations and methods behind the spread of propaganda and disinformation and train them in teaching media literacy skills to children and young people.
- Engaging journalists in efforts to promote MIL among young people and families
- Engaging teachers in exchange of knowledge with Czech experts and practitioners in MIL
- Creating B&H expert community from various disciplines in advancing media literacy skills of children and young people within a family-based approach.
Activities will be implemented through 2021 and 2022, with the financial support of the Transition Promotion Program of the Government of the Czech Republic.
