Significance of International Trade Standards
The aim of the roundtable is to acquaint journalists with the three-year Program on Introduction of International Standards and Regulations, which will be a burning issue in B&H for export oriented companies. The roundtable is designed for journalists from B&H print and broadcast media. The roundtable is organized by the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
The roundtable “International Standards and Regulations on Trade in Goods and Services” will be held at Mediacentar Sarajevo on 20 December 2006 at 10:00 hrs.
Journalists will advance their know-how on industrial product marking, quality management, environment protection and safety management and European Union voluntary standards facilitating application of regulations relating to certain industrial fields.
International standards will be a burning issue in B&H for export oriented companies, which means that CE Mark (international industrial product marking) will be compulsory for all products covered by one or more directives of the new EU approach. Many of our companies have not introduced CE Marking.
A presentation at the roundtable will be made by Mr. Radomir Marinkovic, expert in international standards with the IFC, followed by questions, casual socializing with journalists and lunch.
The roundtable is organized by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank group, in cooperation with NetNovinar – Center for Investigative Reporting and Media Education (Founders: Mediacentar Sarajevo & Investigative Journalism Center, Zagreb).
Please confirm your participation no later than 15 December 2006.
