Invitation to Editors of B-H Media

Editors of Bosnian-Herzegovinian print media and broadcasters are invited to apply for participation in the workshop “Analytical Reporting – Justice and Security in B-H.” Participants will learn more about reform processes for the judiciary and security services in B-H and advance their style of reporting on these issues. The organizer will cover participants’  travel and living expenses. The workshop will be held at Mediacentar on 4-5 April 2007. Closing date for applications: 22 March.

A new year-and-a-half program implemented by NetNovinar Training Center under the name “Analytical Reporting – Justice and Security in B-H” is a support program in investigative reporting in the fields of reform of the judiciary and security services in B-H, which will help editors and journalists improve public dialog on security in B-H and learn about judicial reform processes in B-H. Participants will advance investigative methods of analytical reporting on these issues, meet the key participants in reform in these fields, visit the most important institutions in these sectors (courts and security services), and advance the previously inadequate style of reporting about the B-H judicial and security sectors.
The first workshop for editors of B-H media will be held at Mediacentar Sarajevo on 4-5 April and participants will be acquainted with the program structure with the aim of offering support to the journalists attending it. The workshop will enable participants to advance their know-how on legislation in the fields of judiciary and security in B-H and meet experts from these fields.
The lead trainers will be Mehmed Halilović, Deputy Ombudsman on Media of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Rasim Čerimagić, lecturer and trainer in investigative reporting at the Media Plan College of Journalism, Sarajevo.
The organizer will cover participants’ travel and living expenses.
The closing date for applications is 22 March. The application should contain:

During the year-and-a-half program, another workshop will be held for five editors coming from B-H broadcasters and print media and forty journalists from B-H print media and broadcasters will be trained, who will attend three-and-a-half month education.
The organizer is NetNovinar – Center for Investigative Reporting and Media Education (founders: Mediacentar Sarajevo & Investigative Journalism Center, Zagreb)
