Apply: Write about justice and security in B-H
Are you interested in writing news stories on security and judiciary? Apply for the three-and-a-half-month program “Analytical Reporting – Justice and Security in BiH” at Mediacentar Sarajevo. The organizer will cover participants’ full expenses. Final date for applications: 27 June 2007NetNovinar Training Center is organizing a new program to support analytical reporting in the area of judiciary and security services in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The aim of the program is to help editors and journalists from B-H media learn more about reforms in these areas and advance their coverage of the B-H judicial and security sectors.B-H journalists have an opportunity to advance analytical methods of reporting about security and judiciary and learn about legislation in these areas.Three-and-a-half-month education consists of two three-day workshops and distance education (online learning). Online education will be implemented using special “Moodle” software which will enable participants to have everyday communication with the lecturers and provide them with educational materials and news articles in the area of security and judiciary.The first workshop will be held on 3-5 July and the second one will be held on 5-7 September 2007.Program participants will suggest topics from the areas of justice and security, based on which they will write news stories with constant mentorship of trainers. The stories will be published in the participants’ respective media and posted on the journalist education portal NetNovinar.org.The lead lecturers are Mehmed Halilović, Deputy Ombudsman on Media of FB-H, and Rasim Čerimagić, investigative reporting lecturer and trainer at the Media Plan High College of Journalism in Sarajevo.The organizers will cover participants’ travel and living expenses.The final date for applications is 27 June 2007.
