BBC Serbian Service
The BBC is looking for a Reporter to join its new Serbian Service.
In this role, you will identify and prepare original stories and other content for the BBC Serbian Service’s website, as well as for its social media and other platforms.
You will always remain on the lookout for new story ideas, angles and treatments; making sure that the stories you offer unearth new trends and developments in the target area, cover new ground, and/or give the audience enough information to make sense of the news.
You will cover breaking news, updating and developing news stories.
You will produce work closely with other colleagues in the Service and elsewhere in the BBC on long-term features, investigative material, etc. You will also develop, and work with multimedia content, producing videos, picture galleries, audio material, etc.
We are looking for a candidate who has substantial experience in a similar role in a media outlet which is published in the Serbian language.
You will take a keen interest in the global news agenda, in particular in its relation to the Serbian-speaking market. You will have produced original and/or investigative journalistic material. You will have a rich, varied and up-to-date list of contacts in the region and beyond.
Experience in digital media is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to operate in accordance with the BBC’s editorial guidelines, working with the rest of the team in the Serbian Service and in the wider Europe Region, to build a successful service which will provide independent, accurate and balanced coverage of news, current affairs and wider agenda for the Serbian-language audience.
You must be able to communicate fluently (written and spoken) in Serbian. An excellent command of English is also essential.
